NanoPoll - Portable NANOpore sequencing and exploration of the role of weevils in the POLLination of French Guianese tropical forests

Co-funded by the Nouragues research station,CNRS and the ANR POLLIDIV, French National Research Agency.

As previous recent missions, the exploratory project NanoPoll aimed to understand the importance of weevils as tropical forest specific pollinators. The fieldwork took place from November 15th to December 29th, 2025 in French Guiana, in the presence of :
Anne Loiseau (Entomologist, INRAe, UMR CBGP - Montpellier, France)
Benjamin Zelvelder (PhD candidate, University of Montpellier, UMR CBGP - Montpellier, France)
Axel Bourdonné (Entomologist, INRAe, UMR CBGP - Montpellier, France)
Dr. Frédéric Delsuc (Phylogenomics researcher, CIRAD, UMR CBGP - Montpellier, France)
Dr. Rémi Allio (Entomologist, INRAE, UMR CBGP - Montpellier, France)

During this field expedition, we had the immense honor of staying in the two camps of the Nouragues Research Station in the heart of the Amazonian forest. We were impressed by the comfort these camps offered in terms of equipment, facilities, food access, and of course, access to the forest.
